Bronze axe

Very common in Europe during the Bronze Age, these types of axes are found from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia. Both simple and elegant, the bronze axe (and sword) was the accessory of choice for the political and spiritual elites of Bronze Age societies. Since the Neolithic, stone and copper axes have served several purposes. They are frequently found in richly furnished tombs of kings and queens, and also engraved on stones, such as at Gavrinis in Brittany France for the Neolithic, and at Tanum in Sweden for the Bronze Age.

These axes are not copies of specific axes, but rather reproductions of very common axe forms in Europe during the early and middle Bronze Age.
They can be mounted on a handle and used. The handle shape is inspired by Ötzi’s axe and also by the axe from the coffin of Guldhøj.

Please note that availability of axes with handles is very variable, as the required shape of wood for production is very difficult to find.

Price for axe head only: €90.
