I was born in 1996 into a family of film enthusiasts, craftsmen,
and musicians. I began music at the age of 5 with clarinet lessons in
a music school. At 11, I stopped because music theory didn’t suit me, and
I started teaching myself several instruments: guitar, bass, cello, recorder...
In 2013, I took up steel forging. I built a small rudimentary forge in my
parents’ garden and learned by reading, watching videos, and meeting
other blacksmiths.
In 2015, at 19, I resumed music lessons at the COMDT in Toulouse, where I
studied the hurdy-gurdy for three years and singing for two years. In 2017,
I trained as a sound technician at ISPRA, specializing in studio recording.
Thanks to that, I set up my own home studio.
In 2019, I started working at the Village Gaulois in Rieux-Volvestre as
a coppersmith, bronzesmith, and guide for school groups. I stayed there
until 2023.
At the beginning of 2020, I dedicated myself to researching archaeological
sources and building a carnyx prototype. I sold my first instruments
in early 2021.
In 2022, I filmed a demonstration video of the carnyx in the Lombrives cave.
It has now over 800,000 views, which gave me international visibility
and allowed me to receive many orders and recording proposals.
---
Since then, I have been making almost one carnyx per month for clients
all over the world. I also take part in various international projects
(films, series, video games...) and I produce albums, videos, and recordings
for my own projects or those of my friends.
Finally, I regularly give presentations and lectures, in several
languages, on the carnyx and archaeometallurgy, both to the general
public and to school audiences.
